The turning point.. the third year

By the time i start writing this, i just think of the comments i got for the first blog post. My friends wanted few incidences to be made more explicit.. which i am actually trying here. Before i begin with, a sincere apology to all the people with whom i stayed and whose names have been left off in my previous post. It was not deliberate.

The PV factor:
My third year blossomed in PV(Paramanand vihar) where i was initially intimidated to enter for its cleanliness and stuff. But once i completed my stay there, i literally cursed SASTRA for not allowing final years there.Hostel Room is not something that is made of bricks concrete and paint that too when you are a person with friends around always. My room no which i would sarcastically say as PV321.5 for i lived both the rooms. 10 of us, with 2 "visiting" friends made the hostel as lively as one could imagine. With the only 3rd years in the lobby and all padipps around, We claimed authority by default.

Room mates a.k.a "the entertainers":
I d proudly say my entire 3rd year was like a cruise ship journey where everyone in the room was an entertainer at at-least one point of the time. Thinking about PV life, few things were exclusive to us. I still can remember the famous Ponting-Sachin, illayaraja-ARR, Rajni-Kamal and mainly the India-Australia arguments getting lit up amongst the guys and eventually security personnel from surrounding 3 buildings came up for controlling us. Whatever quarrel it might be, how much ever heated up it shall be, it ended up solution less always and interesting part was that the guys who have teamed up for Sachin would go raging each other in another issue like the ARR-maestro.

PV had taught me one important lesson of my life- Adaptability!! Can you imagine 10 guys getting up at 8.am and everyone ready for breakfast by 8.35? that too with perfect dressing and finishing commitments like the sandhya vandhanam! The guys even had rankings for Mr.Smart of the day:) We broke mirrors, We shouted, We played cricket in the corridor breaking windows..We had representations and nominations for each in all fields.. Be it Hollywood actor or a aggressive fast bowler, We gave each one a name and it was fun personified:) I never thought Prabhu deva and Vaibhav coming together for the Beard ;)!!!!!

Everyone was unique. Till then I never knew a person skipping meals and dinner for playing a computer game. I have never heard of a person who can clean his room all alone daily when 10 others make it shabby everyday.. whoa.. patience!!I even know a person who can pray all the time and be quiet even if 10 others provoke him. I would even frankly admit this... Had their been No PV episode in my life, I would not even play a card game;) To be a part of the gang, you just need a mindset for fun. everything else.. right from the tooth paste to the neatly ironed dresses comes automatically.!!! Socialism !!!!

My room mates were the confident boosters during exam time. Many stayed during exams and we slept in floor which would remind me of a wedding set-up where all the kins lie next in the floor.
We even made seniors envy us with the independence we enjoyed. The most significant incident of PV which had made us "Real Dons" came up once. Seniors had a party and late night came to our lobby breaking our windows and shouting, which eventually ended up with seniors apologizing to us. It just showed me one lesson- "Being united means being powerful"!

And being a part of this gang, guys worked better I would say. We had a GRE scorer in 1300s, a fellowship-holder who came up from the next hostel to join us, a TOEFL star, a guy doing projects for IIT, and loads more and even i saw sg in 8 points that year:). By being a part, everyone became a cricket analyst, knowledgeable in Music, etc by default. I sincerely would rank the third year of my course as the one which had instigated self confidence in me and made me feel I AM WHAT I AM!!!!!
Loads to write but in... next posts:)
Dedicated to all my friends....................... :)
